3D Scanning & Reverse Engineering

Digitize existing components and turn them into a usable technical basis.

Small technical parts are captured in 3D and digitally processed. The resulting geometry can be used for reverse engineering, CAD reconstruction, spare-part reproduction or targeted design modifications.

Request 3D scanning
Typical applications

From an existing part to useful 3D data.

  • Digitize discontinued or unavailable spare parts
  • Capture geometry as a basis for CAD reconstruction
  • Record existing parts for design changes and optimisation
  • Digitally document prototypes, samples and small-series components
  • Prepare parts for reverse engineering and spare-part reproduction
  • Combine scan data with manually verified functional dimensions
What you can get

From scan data to an editable CAD model.

Depending on the project, the scan data can be cleaned for further use or the existing geometry can be reconstructed in CAD. The goal is not merely to capture a surface, but to create technically useful data for the next project step.

3D Capture

Digitally record the shape of small components and provide a three-dimensional geometry basis.

Data Processing

Clean, align and prepare scan data for downstream engineering work.

Reverse Engineering

Understand existing geometry and functional areas as a basis for adaptation, improvement or reproduction.

CAD Reconstruction

Where required, create a clean and editable CAD model using scan data, verified dimensions and technical requirements.

Typical workflow
01

Review the part

The original component, size, surface and required output are assessed first.

02

Capture the part

The component is recorded in 3D from multiple views.

03

Process the scan

The captured data is combined, cleaned and aligned.

04

Verify dimensions

Functional dimensions, fits and critical geometry are checked separately.

05

CAD / production

Depending on the project, the result is processed scan data, an editable CAD model or a reproduced part.

Data & output

The output format depends on how the data will be used.

  • Processed surface or mesh data, for example STL or OBJ
  • Reconstructed CAD geometry, project-dependent, for example STEP / STP
  • Data prepared for 3D printing, engineering or technical modification
  • Optional combination of digitization, CAD reconstruction and manufacturing
